Four year professional degree, with a minor in Organic Agriculture.
Undergraduate thesis research explored the effects of desertification due to climate change in Sub Sahel Africa: primarily how water scarcity meant small hold agriculture in northern Nigeria required new, more efficient methods of irrigation and water storage. Research was conducted to consolidate applicable techniques from similar climates and geographies around the globe. The results contributed to a larger Farm Radio International initiative, which used the findings to create accessible and culturally relevant radio dramas to disseminate information to rural farmers.
Thesis research illuminated the need to decrease the negative environmental impacts of industrial food production in more developed countries, and resulted in a scalable urban food landscape design project based on the concept of continuous productive urban landscapes.
